Hut Accommodation Information
The hut accommodation at the Routeburn Track unguided walk tour is in the Department of Conservation accommodation. These huts are purposefully built in amazing locations offering bunk beds, separate bathrooms with flushing toilets and 24X7 running water, common kitchen and living area. In these large huts, there are common kitchen and living area with fireplace or coal burner accommodation. In the kitchen area, running water is available and gas rings are arranged for cooking as well.
These hut accommodations are staffed by fully trained Department of Conservation hut warden. In each hut there is one warden who will be available in the evenings to discuss any queries, you have. Other than this, the warden will give an evening briefing on weather forecasts, information about the track ahead, the flora & fauna on your way, and anything that is special to the place.
